In March 2022, we invited residents to share their insights about how they move around Hamilton. Community feedback received helped shape a comprehensive study of Hamilton’s transport patterns, highlighting areas where connectivity could be improved and opportunities for growth.
Over the past two years, we’ve made significant progress in implementing these actions, including securing funding for road safety improvements, adopting an Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Policy and solar lighting around the Hamilton Lake and Cox Street redevelopment.
Progress continues with the realignment of heavy vehicle routes, noting that heavy vehicles have been reduced on North Boundary Road. Key projects such as the footpath missing link upgrades and road safety enhancements have been instrumental in improving overall transport efficiency and safety.
Council are now seeking feedback to refine and prioritise upcoming projects as the next phase of the Hamilton Moves strategy commences.
