At the ordinary Council meeting held on 10 February 2026, Council approved to advertise the notice of intention to sell four properties identified as surplus to Council requirements.
Under Section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020, Council must give public notice by advertising for a minimum of 28 days the intention to sell each of the four properties. Council will consider Community feedback received through this process prior to making a final sale decision.
Locations of surplus properties include:
11 Leahy Street, Hamilton
Grosvenor Place, Hamilton
8 David Street, Hamilton
Elizabeth/McPhee Streets, Hamilton
These four properties have been identified as having no foreseeable future Council use and surplus to Council’s needs and suitable for residential development.
Residents are invited to share their comments online via the survey below or in writing by 7 April2026 to:
