Southern Grampians Shire Council is calling on residents to share their experiences and concerns about the Rippon Road and Ballarat Road intersection to help inform advocacy for safety improvements at the site.
The intersection was identified as a priority after a Notice of Motion from Councillor Henry at the June Council meeting to collect community stories and data about its use and safety after residents raised ongoing concerns.
Southern Grampians Shire Council Councillor Helen Henry said Council shared community concerns and were committed to advocating for change.
"We know this intersection has been a long-standing concern for many residents and families but to strengthen our advocacy - we need community support," Cr Henry said.
"We are asking residents to share their experiences, near misses, incidents and safety concerns so we can build a strong evidence-based case for improvements."
While the intersection is located on a state-managed road and falls under the responsibility of the Department of Transport and Planning, Council will use community feedback to advocate for much needed safety upgrades.
"Whether you've witnessed a near miss, been involved in an incident, experienced difficulty turning onto or crossing Ballarat Road, have concerns about traffic volumes, visibility or driver behaviour, or pedestrian crossing - we want to hear from you," Cr Henry said.
"Hearing directly from residents helps to demonstrate the real-world impact this has on our community."

Council encourages residents to also report these safety concerns and incidents directly to the Department of Transport and Planning at Submit a report or enquiry to Transport Victoria : VicRoads
Council will continue to work closely with the Department of Transport and Planning and will keep the community informed of any progress regarding safety improvements at the intersection.
